Bob Butlin has been retired since 2007 but is still very active in the Edmonton community. Prior to his retirement Bob worked as the Senior Manager for Corporate Strategic Business Services Programs. Bob graduated from NAIT with a diploma in Business Administration with a focus on management. He has spent most of his career working with the Government while volunteering his time in the field of sports and recreation in Edmonton. Bob is currently supervising the scheduling of all basketball times in the Saville Community Sports Centre West and the financial management for the Edmonton Grads Basketball Centre.
Bob has played a major role in developing the GCC and the expansion of the Saville Community Sports Centre. He has been an active volunteer in the Basketball community in the Edmonton area for years and is passionate about helping others, especially when it comes to the youth. Bob was the Vice-President of the Edmonton Grads Basketball Centre from 2004-2009 and currently holds a position on their board as a member at large. Bob is an active member at the GCC sitting on various committees, working to improve and maintain the facility, and bringing in major events.
In 2012 Bob was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Metal for his selfless community work and exceptional achievements. He was recognized for going above and beyond the call of civic duty to make our great country an even better place to live, to work, and to raise a family in Canada.
